Five winterized buildings that house up to 192 people, 4 with fireplaces, all with meeting space. Comfortable bedrooms. Seasonal buildings dorm style and rustic cabins that house up to 150 people are available June thru September. Offering dorms and rustic cabins with flexible meeting space. YMCA Camp Algonquin is uniquely suited to serve your retreat and conference needs in a beautiful, quiet, and natural setting. TV and VCR/DVD are available upon request.

Located along Northern Illinois' beautiful Fox River on 116 rolling, wooded acres, YMCA Camp Algonquin has been serving group needs for nearly 90 years. Only 50 miles northwest of downtown Chicago, the camp is within easy reach of the city via car or train. O'Hare airport is only 30 miles away.

HILLCREST LODGE...... Maximum capacity is 60- minimum capacity is 30
Hillcrest is a modern dorm-style building that accommodates up to 38 people in 8 four-bed rooms and one room with six beds, a large meeting room/lounge with a fireplace, kitchenette (stove and oven not available), and adjacent restrooms that are wheelchair accessible. Equipped with microwave.  Hillcrest is located on the lower level of our Dining Hall complex for easy access at mealtimes.

SAVE HOUSE... Maximum capacity is 46- minimum capacity is 24
Save is a large building that accommodates up to 30 people in five "doubles" and two large sleeping rooms with 10 beds each. Save features a large, comfortable lounge/meeting room with fireplace, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms and screened in recreation area with a ping pong table. Equipped with microwave. Save is a pleasant 5-10 minute walk from the Dining Hall.

ELIZABETH WARD HOUSE. Maximum capacity is 40- minimum capacity is 15. Located 25 yards from the Dining Hall. Modern building equipped with full kitchen, 8 bedrooms, 3 meeting areas, 6 bathrooms.

HIGHLAND HOUSE  ...Maximum capacity is 21- minimum capacity is 15.  Highland is a comfortable two-story building with a warm home-like atmosphere. There is a full kitchen, and a fireplace in the living room. Equipped with microwave.  There are 2 single bedrooms, 1 four bed room and 7 "doubles" 1 three bedroom and 1 four bedroom, plus a screened in front porch and two full baths. Highland is less than 50 yards from Hillcrest and the Dining Hall.

RIVER VALLEY..... Maximum capacity is 25-minimum capacity is 15
Adjacent to the Activity Center Complex, River Valley offers a large, cozy lounge with fireplace and can sleep up to 19 people in five separate bedrooms with an option of adding more cots in the lounge area if needed. Equipped with microwave and refrigerator. River Valley provides privacy, outdoor activity space, a covered porch, and a view of the Fox River.

ACTIVITY CENTER.......This building complex provides groups with a large all-purpose room accommodating up to 200 people 31'x65' and an Arts & Crafts Room 25'x28. The Activity Center is located in the lower part of camp with a scenic view of the Fox River and a large playing field. There is a long covered porch that provides protected outdoor activity space on rainy days.

OUTDOOR AREAS.......YMCA Camp Algonquin has several level grassy play areas that are maintained for program use. Our 116 acre site is woven with hiking and nature trails that give access to the camp's natural wooded beauty. The Meadows is a large tree-lined play area perfect for games by day and campfires and star-gazing by night. We have six outdoor fire-rings for campfires, stocked with wood and ready for your use. Our Scout Trail zigzags up the creek ravine and includes interpretive programs designed to reveal its natural secrets. The Riverfront is home to beaver, woodchucks, ducks, and birds and is a fascinating resource for nature study.

Program Equipment- All items listed below must be requested prior to your visit.

TV and VCR/DVD are available upon request only. Please arrange prior to your visit. (available on limited basis)

Sporting Goods and Active Game Equipment
A sports equipment bag is available for your group upon request. Please make prior arrangements before your visit. This includes a basketball, volleyball, soccer ball, football, playground ball, whiffle bat and ball, jump ropes and frisbees. Softball equipment can also be check out upon availability.
